Diane and I just returned from a week in Alaska's Kenai Peninsula area. We were on an Eco Tour with http://www.alaskawildland.com/ which included many activities. We hiked, kayaked (lake and sea), rafted, boated and capped the trip with a trip on the Alaska Railroad. Our stay with Alaskan Wildland Adventures began at their Riverside Lodge which is in Coopers Landing. From there we rafted to Skilak Lake and stayed at their Back Country Lodge. This lodge is the only one on this large lake and the feeling of remoteness was strong. After two nights here we motor boated across the lake to awaiting shuttles that took us to Seward. From there a boat took us around to the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge. On the way we saw lots of wildlife including Whales, Porpoises, Puffins and Sea Otters. While at the Glacier Lodge we kayaked to the face of the Aialik Glacier. After two nights in the Glacier Lodge we again boarded the boat for a trip to Seward where we completed our journey to Anchorage via the Alaska Railway. There are no words that can begin to describe Alaska so I will just let some pictures show you some of what we saw. We took over 400 photos so these are just a few of the best. If you find these interesting and have any questions, please let me know as I would be happy to talk about Alaska more than I can here.
I have posted more pictures - with captions on my Facebook page.
