| Wyatt Nelson, my wife's cousin's son and I went backpacking to the Missouri Lakes Basin near Vail Colorado. We had planned to see some snow and brought snowshoes but we never expected to see as much snow as we found. |

| We started with a stream crossing. This water is snow melt derived and COLD! |

| It was a relief to get to the other side and stand on a warm rock. |

| Just a quarter mile up from the trailhead it was snow going |
 |
| Sometimes the "trail" was pretty steep |
 |
| We camped after searching over 3 hours for a bit of dry ground for our tent. |
 |
| This is the view from our campsite. There was over FIVE feet of snow on the ground everywhere. |

| All in all this was an excellent adventure! |
