

These are photos of a successful first test of a new-to-me device called the IceBox Igloo tool. I ran out of daylight so I didn't finish it and I had to knock out a wall to show the tool in action but you get the idea. Alone, I built the smallest igloo possible with this tool which is 7 feet inner diameter. This took me 1.5 hours and is large enough for one person. The tool will also make 8', 9', and 11' inner diameter igloos.
I probably could have finished the 7 footer by myself but I was running out of daylight and I only wanted to test the tool. It would be much easier to make an igloo with two people - that way, one could be gathering snow while the other concentrated on packing it and working with the tool. I would build an 8 footer for two people to stay in.
