These are photos of a successful first test of a new-to-me device called the IceBox Igloo tool. I ran out of daylight so I didn't finish it and I had to knock out a wall to show the tool in action but you get the idea. Alone, I built the smallest igloo possible with this tool which is 7 feet inner diameter. This took me 1.5 hours and is large enough for one person. The tool will also make 8', 9', and 11' inner diameter igloos.I probably could have finished the 7 footer by myself but I was running out of daylight and I only wanted to test the tool. It would be much easier to make an igloo with two people - that way, one could be gathering snow while the other concentrated on packing it and working with the tool. I would build an 8 footer for two people to stay in.
